Adovia Exfoliating Facial Sea Salts *Review*

If you don't know me you wouldn't know that I'm a big fan of holistic beauty treatments. Ever since I found my mothers recipe book as a child I was hooked. I started with egg facials and quickly moved on to homemade chamomile concoctions. It was like magic. Unsurprisingly, this love carried over into adulthood when I began making my own natural bath and body products as a lark. Now I love checking out new healthy beauty products. Adovia Exfoliating Facial Sea Salts is a great example of this.

It consists of a single ingredient: fine grain dead sea salt. Dead sea salts are full of minerals. Using them for exfoliation will help your skin absorb some of those minerals as the dead skin cells are exfoliated away. This makes for even healthier skin overall. As far as ingredients go it's one of the best.

That being said, this does need to be mixed in with something such as a carrier oil (olive oil, almond oil, etc.) or cleanser. I was gentle when applying it and I don't have sensitive skin. It was still too rough for me to continue to use on my face. My skin is normal and this does say it's for oily skin. That might just be it.

However, this is perfect for a body scrub. It doesn't market itself as such but I would strongly recommend it for hand and body use. The weather is getting cooler. It's the time of year when everyone in cold climates begins to feel the effects of the dry air. This is when I really bust out my scrubs and moisturizers. Tomorrow I'm going to show a few ideas of how I will personally be using my Adovia Exfoliating Dead Sea Salts over the next few months.

Long story short, I'd give this 3/5 stars for facial use (for my skin type which is normal) & 5/5 for other uses. I'm really looking forward to incorporating Adovia Exfoliating Facial Salts into my weekly beauty routine.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Cassani Fogless Shower Mirror *Review*

The fogless shower mirror by Cassani is a detachable mirror with a razor holder that you hang in your shower for general shaving use. Chris had been wanting to buy one for a long time. When I got the chance to review it I was thrilled. I was a bit worried about how it would hold up in our old shower. Well, it's been great!

It's been in our shower for about a month and a half now. During that whole time the mirror and razor holder haven't fallen or fogged up even once. Our razor is pretty heavy so that's saying a lot! The fogless shower mirror exceeded my expectations and I am so pleased to have this in the shower now. It's really helped to cut down on messes around the sink from a certain someone's shaving. I love it!

  • It has a high rate of customer satisfaction and includes a 100% money-back guarantee.
  • It comes with a stainless steel razor hook. This will help prolong your razors lifespan by keeping it from sitting on a wet shower ledge.
  • The mirror itself is made with anti-fog nanotechnology. It really works too!
  • You can see you entire face in it. You don't need to worry about missing spots or turning at weird angles to see.
  • It's detachable. It's great for home or travel.
  • It's also deceptively light. This thing does not weigh much at all so it really stays up well.

I liked this so much and at $15 it's well worth the money. I honestly don't have a single con to list- which is a first for me. After over a month of use this has held up with no issues or signs of wear whatsoever. It's a great product. I'm giving the Cassani Fogless Shower Mirror 5/5 stars!

Iced Green Tea Latte w/ Kiss Me Organics Matcha *Review*

I've been wanting to try matcha for years now. I finally got the chance with Kiss Me Organics. Matcha is basically powdered, high-quality green tea. It's the same thing you'll find at Japanese Tea Ceremonies. Nowadays it's used to flavor delicious drinks & treats. Thanks to a little experimentation I came up with the recipe below.

    Iced Green Tea Latte

1 T. Agave Nectar (or to taste)
    1/2 c. Whole Milk
    1/2 c. Purified Water

With a fork or whisk mix the agave & matcha in a medium sized container until completely blended together. Add your water and mix again until smooth. Add the milk & whisk. Pour into an ice filled cup. Enjoy!

Note: The key here is to make a paste with the agave & matcha before adding anything else. I found that this makes for a smooth beverage instead of a grainy one.

I have to admit, at first I had a few kitchen disasters when I tried using this matcha. I tried it hot but I'm no expert. I think my technique was wrong because it turned out grainy. I also tried it in a cocktail & a different iced latte recipe. You see, the unspoken trick to using matcha is have a light touch. More is not always better.

I was about ready to give up when I turned to google. I found a delicious green tea biscotti recipe. (You can find it on my new matcha pinterest board.) I'm not gonna lie, I polished off that batch within 24 hours. It was amazing! Now I LOVE my Kiss Me Organics Matcha!

    • It's USDA certified organic. Seriously, the only ingredient in this is 100% organic matcha.
    • Its has 137x the antioxidents of standard brewed green tea.
    • Its helps burn calories & improves energy and focus. I have a cruddy metabolism so I'm pretty happy about this.
    • It's really versatile. You're not stuck using this just for drinking. You can use to make all sorts of baked goods and sweet treats. Plus, now that it's summer you can add it to your smoothies. I keep wanting to try it in a strawberry one.
    • It comes with a 30 day, 110% money-back guarantee. I like it when companies have confidence in their product.
    • It's delicious! Am, my daughter, insists the iced lattes are even better than chocolate milk. I'd have to agree.
    • The two recipes I tried from the ebook didn't work for me. After I tried some different ones I found online the difference was a pleasant surprise. (I didn't try all of the recipes so some might be good.)
    • This is powdered so if it's mixed incorrectly your beverage can turn out grainy. I've had the same problem with cocoa powder. It's an easy fix.
    • It does contain caffeine. This could be a pro depending on how you view it. I have to watch my caffeine intake though.

I would give this a 5/5. I'm not going to fault Kiss Me Organics Matcha for user/recipe errors. No one's buying this for ebook. The product itself is delicious! This is definitely a summer must-have! The flavor is light and refreshing. The iced latte is now one of my favorite things to drink. It's super fast to make and I get to feel good about the beverages I'm serving my family. I am so in love with this matcha!

    Picture Problems

So I was going through my picture albums today, doing a little cleanup. I came back here to check on things and write a new post. That's when I noticed the missing pictures.

Where had they gone? Why were only some of them missing? Was there some sort of blogger glitch? Was this the work of a nefarious product picture thief?

After a little light detective work on my part I came to the root of the problem. If you delete a photo in your g+ account it gets deleted from blogger as well- even if it was a separate upload!

So all of those nifty pictures I had up? Gone.

Unfortunately I did this after deleting files on my computer so I don't have any extra copies or any way to get them back. There's nothing left to do but call it a learning experience and move on.

    Tomorrow's a new day.
